Asian Food Festival Launch

Dedicating and keeping to the theme, “Truly, Madly, Deeply Scrumptious”, the Festival will start with a commitment of an extensive programme of Asian cuisine events across Melbourne, in particular to the Biggest Yum in Little Bourke Street. The Asian Food Festival will be launched by the Rt. Hon. Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Cr. Robert Doyle. There will be a spectacular array of delectable delights with the “Table Setting Race” to entertain the guests. Look out for the colourful Malaysian Trishaw Race (“Visit Malaysia 2014”) – truly a “bicycle made for two or three”!

Men’s “Private Small Business” Dinner

Proceeds from this fund raising dinner will be donated to Australian Prostate Cancer Research (APCR). For the first time ever, the Asian Food Festival is proud to present an outdoor dining experience with a big “WOW” factor – imagine 3 entire blocks of Lt. Bourke St., Chinatown, from Spring to Swanston Streets, set up with tables and chairs in the street, serving up a wonderful lunch spread by local traders from each block. Immerse yourself in this gigantic social event by dining with your fellow denizens and indulging in the variety of popular “yummy” selections.

There will be roving entertainment and Lion Dance performances. Join in the fun of the waitpersons races! Can these professional hospitality workers rush to the finish line while balancing a tray of cups of Chinese tea without spilling them? Will you be able to compete with them?

Part of the proceeds from this BIG event will be donated to the Australian Prostate Cancer Research and Epworth Healthcare (Heart Foundation & Clinical Education & Simulation).
